National Bamboo Mission
The National Bamboo Mission will be a Centrally Sponsored Scheme, in which the contribution of the Central Government will be 100%. The Scheme will be implemented by the Division of Horticulture under the Department of Agriculture and
Cooperation in the Ministry of Agriculture, New Delhi.
National Mission on Bamboo Applications
The National Mission on Bamboo Applications, structured as a Technology Mission, is one of the key initiatives of the Department of Science & Technology for the Tenth Plan.
Cane and Bamboo Technology Centre in North Eastern India is equipped to translate the bamboo dream of the region into reality. A broad mission is underway to ensure the transition of NE region to a location surplus in value creation and value addition facilities to the existing bamboo resources.
Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), an apex body in the national forestry research system, has been undertaking the holistic development of forestry research through need based planning, promoting, conducting and coordinating research, education and extension covering all aspects of forestry.
The Center for Indian Bamboo Resource and Technology is a not-for-profit organization incorporated in December 2002, under Section 25 of the Indian Companies Act 1956. It serves as a catalyst to the development of bamboo industry in India, particularly in rural areas, undertaking various collaborative livelihood development projects.
The International Network for Bamboo and Rattan (INBAR) is an intergovernmental organization dedicated to improving the social, economic, and environmental benefits of bamboo and rattan. INBAR connects a global network of partners from the government, private, and not-for-profit sectors in over 50 countries to define and implement a global agenda for sustainable development through bamboo and rattan.
TRIPURA BAMBOO MISSION
The Tripura Bamboo Mission is Initiative of the Government of Tripura to develop the bamboo sector in the state in a holistic manner.
UTTARANCHAL BAMBOO AND FIBER DEVELOPMENT BOARD ( UBFDB )
Uttaranchal Bamboo and Fiber Development Board was established under the aegis of the Govt. of Uttaranchal as part of the entrepreneurship development policy of the state.
KERALA BAMBOO MISSION
The State Bamboo Mission was constituted in November 2003 with the broad aim of marshalling the scattered resources of the State and adopting a focused approach to revitalize the bamboo sector thereby promoting value addition, enhancing income generation and alleviating poverty.

Odisha FORESTRY SectorDEVELOPMENT PROJECT
The Odisha State government have launched the Odisha Forestry Sector Development Project (OFSDP) with the support from Japan International Cooperation Agency(JICA).
The forest department in the state was re-organised on 1st October 2003.with a view to bring the administration closer to the people. The entire area is divided into 281 ranges in 50 divisions (comprising of 37 forest divisions and 12 wildlife divisions and Nandan Kanan Zoological Park), in 8 circles.
